Stock Water Calculator

South West Tech — how much water your stock need, and the pump & storage to match

1. Your stock
Rates are litres/head/day in mild conditions (editable) — based on FutureBeef (QLD DAF/MLA) and NSW DPI guidelines. The season and feed settings below adjust them. European (Bos taurus) breeds drink more in heat than Brahman-type (Bos indicus).
2. Conditions
In western QLD heat cattle can drink 2–3× their winter intake, and dry feed with salt licks pushes demand higher again — always size for the worst week of summer, not the average. Storage reserve covers cloudy days and breakdowns.
