How do I know if my bore water is safe to drink?

By South West Tech

You can't tell whether bore water is safe to drink simply by looking at it. Even if the water appears clear and tastes normal, it may still contain bacteria, minerals or other contaminants that aren't visible.

The only way to know if your bore water is suitable for drinking is to have it tested by a certified water testing laboratory. Testing can identify issues such as bacteria, salinity, nitrates, heavy metals and other substances that may affect water quality or require treatment.

If your bore water is used for household drinking water, it's recommended that you test it before use and continue testing it periodically, particularly if you notice changes in taste, colour or odour. If testing identifies any issues, a suitable filtration or water treatment system may be required before the water is considered safe to drink.
