How deep does a bore need to be for water?

By South West Tech

There isn't a standard depth for a water bore because it depends entirely on your property's geology and groundwater conditions. In some areas, good-quality water may be found at less than 20 metres, while in others, bores may need to be drilled 100 metres or more to reach a reliable aquifer.

The required depth is determined by factors such as local geology, groundwater availability and the amount of water you need. Before drilling, a licensed bore driller will assess the area and recommend the most suitable depth based on local conditions and experience.

Once the bore has been completed, it's important to choose a pump that's matched to the bore depth, water level and daily demand. South West Tech can design and install the right bore pumping system to ensure reliable water delivery for your home, farm or rural property.
