Large DOL-start motors are hard on generators. A soft starter or VSD can significantly reduce the generator size needed — ask us about options.
Assumes motor efficiency 0.9, PF 0.8 running, and a genset able to carry ~2.5× rated kVA briefly during motor starting (typical for standard alternators at acceptable voltage dip). Guide only — actual sizing depends on the motor, load type and alternator. Confirm with South West Tech — 0488 224 284.
